15 Hugo Keenan (Leinster)
The 23-year-old has been a study of consistency at the back for the Irish province, with nine clean breaks, 88 carries and 436 metres gained to provide the perfect launchpad for his team.

14 Robert Baloucoune (Ulster)
While Ulster have not been quite a free-flowing in the attacking department as some of their rivals, the 22-year-old winger has scored an impressive five tries in just six games.

13 Nick Grigg (Glasgow Warriors)
A strong presence in both attack and defence, Nick Grigg has been key to Glasgow’s revival after a slow start to the season with his 253 metres gained and two try assists showing his value.

12 Joseph Tomane (Leinster)
The experienced Australian has scored two tries and set up another in his eight starts for Leinster, carrying the ball for 294 metres in the process to boost his team’s midfield dynamism.

11 Dave Kearney (Leinster)
No one will be surprised to see Dave Kearney’s name in the XV after scoring nine tries from just six appearances for the men in blue, racking up 11 clean breaks and 333 metres gained.

10 Pete Horne (Glasgow Warriors)
A reliable performer for Glasgow Warriors, the versatile Pete Horne has one try, three try assists to his name from six games and a kicking success of 71 per cent to boot.

9 John Cooney (Ulster)
An electrifying campaign from the 29-year-old has seen him score four tries, set-up another two and add a further 74 points from the tee to help his side remain on the tail of Leinster.

1 Peter Dooley (Leinster)
Having only missed one game in the Guinness PRO14 this season, Peter Dooley has been front and centre of Leinster’s charge with a 97 per cent tackle success.

2 Scott Otten (Ospreys)
The 25-year-old hooker is the sole Ospreys player to make the cut and deservedly so. With 84 lineouts won, 79 carries and a couple of tries to his name, he has been a star for the Welsh outfit.

3 Tom O’Toole (Ulster)
At just 21, prop Tom O’Toole has shown maturity beyond his years in this campaign with 12 appearances, including six starts, and an impressive 98 per cent tackle success.

4 Ross Molony (Leinster)
A century of tackles with a 96 per cent success rate ensures the 25-year-old also makes the cut, with his influence at the breakdown also providing a helping hand to Leinster’s challenge.

5 Alan O’Connor (Ulster)
Another ever-present of Dan McFarland’s side, Alan O’Connor has been a mountain in defence with 149 tackles (95 per cent success rate) from his 12 appearances (including 10 starts).

6 Maxime Mbanda (Zebre)
The one and only Zebre player, Maxime Mbanda has been as influential as ever this season for the Italian side, scoring a couple of tries, assisting once and racking up 41 carries.

7 Will Connors (Leinster)
Seventh in the tackle charts with 149, Will Connors can always be found in the thick of the action as evidence by his two tries and one try assist from his 10 appearances for the province.

8 Marcell Coetzee (Ulster)
The South African has been a titan once again for Ulster this season, with 114 carries for 215 metres and nine turnovers won (fifth overall) from just seven starts.

*Minimum 400 minutes required for selection

= 2 mete (come Connors)

A whole host of Guinness PRO14 stars have impressed in the season so far, but there are those who just manage to produce round after round.
Stats gurus Opta have boiled down the top performers across Conferences A and B, with six PRO14 sides represented in a showcase of the Championship’s strength in depth.
So who has made the cut in the Team of the Season so far?
Thanks to the Opta Index, below is the answer - based on players’ performances over 80 minutes (with a minimum 400 minutes required for selection).

15. Hallam Amos, Cardiff Blues
Injury sadly derailed Amos in early 2020 but his switch from the Dragons to Cardiff Blues paid handsome dividends in the first half of the season - his 13 offloads (in only six matches) good for second in the league, while also making seven clean breaks, beating 16 defenders and gaining no fewer than 348 metres for his side.

14. Robert Baloucoune, Ulster
The winger started with two tries in the first three rounds and didn’t look back, gelling well with Will Addison in the back three to produce some fine running rugby at the Kingspan, eventually scoring five tries in just six games.

13. Nick Grigg, Glasgow Warriors
The centre bounced back from omission from Scotland’s World Cup squad with a series of authoritative performances in the midfield as he helped Glasgow recover from their slow start to the campaign - 253m gained and a pair of try assists nothing to sneer at.

12. Matt Scott, Edinburgh
Scott has made slicing through defences his speciality, making 16 clean breaks and beating 34 defenders in total to help inspire an impressive Edinburgh side.

11. Dave Kearney, Leinster
Simply a try machine. Kearney gets the nod out wide having already crossed the whitewash nine times in the PRO14 this season.

10. Pete Horne, Glasgow Warriors
Horne has been rewarded with a new contract at Scotstoun, a reflection of the consistency of his performances this season, which has helped him assist three tries.

9. John Cooney, Ulster
Arguably the most in-form scrum-half in the northern hemisphere for large swathes of this season. 94 points - the second-most in the PRO14 - and an 89% kicking accuracy are just two of the reasons why this has been the finest campaign of Cooney’s career.

1. Peter Dooley, Leinster
The 25-year-old has loosened the shackles and embraced a ball-carrying role this season, helping his province to a perfect record in Conference A, while missing just one league match and boasting a 97 per cent tackle success rate.

2. Scott Otten, Ospreys
Ospreys have an embarrassment of riches at hooker and 25-year-old Otten has been a shining light in a tough campaign with a consistent lineout and aggressive ball-carrying.

3. Tom O’Toole, Ulster
Youngster O’Toole has blossomed under the guidance of fellow prop Dan McFarland and an Ireland call-up testifies to the 21-year-old's rapid progress.

4. Lewis Carmichael, Edinburgh
Having missed all of last season due to injury, versatile forward Carmichael has been a fixture in the second row for Richard Cockerill's men this term - an absolute powerhouse who has completed 111 tackles.

5. Grant Gilchrist, Edinburgh
It’s an all-Edinburgh combination in the engine room and Gilchrist’s international class has helped his side be the foremost force in Conference B.

6. Magnus Bradbury, Edinburgh
Further Edinburgh representation here. Bradbury’s talent has never been in doubt and after a turbulent World Cup last summer, he has stitched together his best run of performances in the PRO14.

7. Will Connors, Leinster
Connors is a tackling machine, making 23 in an inter-pro clash with Munster, and his physicality has helped Leinster maintain their 100% record.

8. Marcell Coetzee, Ulster
Coetzee found his feet in the PRO14 this season and the Springbok is one of the league’s fiercest propositions in the contact area. He has acucmulated 114 carries for 215 metres and nine turnovers won (fifth overall) from just seven starts.

In precedenza era stata nominata anche la squadra ideale del solo girone B

Conference B Team of the Season (Per 80 Mins)*

15 Hallam Amos (Cardiff Blues)
The 25-year-old has been a reliable campaigner for the side from the Welsh capital, notching seven clean breaks, beating 16 defenders and gaining no fewer than 348 metres for his side to lay the foundations for a potent attacking threat.

14 Monty Ioane (Benetton)
The dangerous Monty Ioane sits fourth in the standings for defenders beaten - 36 - while lying fifth in terms of clean breaks with 14. With 457 metres also gained, the Australian represents a persistent threat for the side from Treviso.

13 Kyle Godwin (Connacht)
The Zimbabwean-born centre has been a key player for Connacht in the midfield, surging to nine clean breaks and beating 29 defenders - the ninth most of any player in the competition.

12 Matt Scott (Edinburgh)
An imperious force in Edinburgh’s midfield, Matt Scott boasts an impressive set of Opta statistics with four tries, five assists, 16 clean breaks and 34 defenders beaten.

11 Duhan van der Merwe (Edinburgh)
With seven tries, deadly Duhan van der Merwe is a Guinness PRO14 force to be reckoned with. Sitting top of the standings for clean breaks, defenders beaten and metres gained - 27, 61 and a considerable 765 respectively - the South African winger has been a crucial protagonist for the side from the capital.

10 Jaco van der Walt (Edinburgh)
Eighth in the standings for overall points scored with 67, Jaco van der Walt is another one of Cockerill’s stars who has shone, also boasting an 84 per cent kicking success rate and slotting 20 out of his 24 conversions. A clinical customer.

9 Kieran Hardy (Scarlets)
The 24-year-old scum-half has been a vital string-puller for the Scarlets and knows a thing or two about try-scoring as well, crossing five times as his team sit third in the Conference B standings.

1 Pierre Schoeman (Edinburgh)
Front row firepower has helped propel Edinburgh to the Conference B summit and South African Pierre Schoeman has been at the heart of their success, with 30 successful carries, eight turnovers and an impressive 93 per cent tackle success rate.

2 Michael Willemse (Edinburgh)
Schoeman’s partner in crime, hooker and fellow South African Michael Willemse has made 22 successful carries of his own while also completing no fewer than 89 tackles. The 27-year-old has also won 95 line-outs - the second most behind Isuzu Southern Kings’ Jacques du Toit.

3 Finlay Bealham (Connacht)
With a 90 per cent tackle success rate, the experienced 28-year-old - who has made over 120 appearances in Galway - is a dependable campaigner for Friend’s men.

4 Lewis Carmichael (Edinburgh)
The powerful 24-year-old has completed 111 tackles for the Scots - at an impressive 95 per cent success rate - and has been an unsung hero for the team at the top of the table.

5 Grant Gilchrist (Edinburgh)
Industrious work from the pack has been at the heart of Edinburgh’s success, and experienced international campaigner Grant Gilchrist has delivered some important performances for his club - with 78 tackles.

6 Magnus Bradbury (Edinburgh)
With 31 successful carries and 220 metres gained - Magnus Bradbury is a force to be reckoned with in the Edinburgh back row.

7 Tommy O’Donnell (Munster)
The experienced 32-year-old has made 84 tackles at an eye-catching 96 per cent success rate, and has been a vital force in Johann van Graan’s Munster thwarting opposition attacks.

8 Arno Botha (Munster)
The 28-year-old South African sits joint-seventh in the top try-scorers table - with six efforts - and joint-fourth for successful carries with 45, and has helped form a formidable back of the scrum for the men from Limerick.
