Hi Vesh! In June I played a rugby league match. I deserved a punch (that went to a team mate of mine instead) for accidentally squeezing the testicles of an opponent while trying to tackle him. But, you know, it was my first match ever!

Ouch. How could you do that in a rugby league game? You would most likely do that in a rugby game where you jump all over eachother. You don\'t jump all over eachother in league.

well, it was just an attempt to tackle a guy...it happens...i just grabbed where i\'d better not

Rugby League in Italy never found space.

Two times somedoby try to craete a Rugby League Championship.

The first in Turin and in a little town (pinerolo) after the 2nd WW.

Some former war prisonner found a team in Poinerolo, and the most important team of Turin, the "Ginnastica" left the Regby Union federation.

But this had sghort life.

At the beginning od 60's, after a truoubled edition of Italian championship, there was another attempt by some Team near Venezia.

They Founded the "FIAR 13" a federation that had a short life, amd was'n admitetd in the Italian Olimpic Committe (National union of sports federation). It seems that two match with an AUstralian team were played in Padova and Treviso (bUT I NEVER FOUND ANY RESULTS)!

I would play to rugby league, but in Campania there aren't players.

stiamo cercando di tirar su una squadra di rugby league a Milano, per fare qualche torneo etc... se v'interessa contattatemi sulla mail: cicciorugbier@fastwebnet.it anche se non siete a Milano proviamo a sentirci se volete giocare...
visto che siete in Italia cercate di parlare la lingua di Dante...
visto che a casa vostra io devo imparare la vostra, e voi a casa mia non dovete imparare la mia?

Ho 36 anni e sono un pò in sovrappeso, ed inoltre dovrei mettere su una decina di chili di muscoli. Considerato che faccio una vita sedentaria, non so quanto tempo ci metterò a mettermi in forma per una partita di rugby.

E' vero che per giocare a rugby ci vuole uno spirito da battaglia, e non da scampagnata.
E' vero che nel rugby non conta solo saper sollevare i pesi ma anche e soprattutto fermare pesi da 100Kg in movimento.

Per cui, non sò.

La voglia di giocare c'è. Devo mettermi in sesto.
Poi ti farò sapere.

Vesh,what do u think about the players who converts from league to union,like Sailor,Rogers and so on?!!is it a good thing 4 u?i heard also that to the famous Marc Gasnier was offered to play in rugby Union,warming up 4 the World Cup next year...why has he rejected the offer??wich r the best league players?i think the best team is in Camberra,the Broncos,right??
In Oz league has also much players than in the league.right??
sorry if i did a lot of question,but i'm really interested in knowing somethin new!!thank u for the answers!

la tendenza in Australia non cambia..Schifcofske,capitano dei Camberra Raiders,ha firmato con il Queensland...sempre piu giocatri del League passano alla Union..PERCHE?!?!?!

il fatto che i giocatori si spostano dalla league alla union è dovuto principalmente al fatto che li pagano na sportata di soldi per averli al 15, la league cmq non ne risente perchè in aussie sforna talenti ogni giorno.

Hi Vesh,

i admit, i know very a little of Rugby league, i know some rules, i watched some 10 minutes-matches froma Australian championship (i'm honest, i don't like it, much better Union rules, but i was impressed by tremendous shoulder tackles i've seen).
Here in Italy that damn football eats every space on newspapers, TV, ecc, so even Rugby (Union rules, of course) lacks of a good media coverage, and i don't know of any Italian club playing League rules.
A question for you: after seeing few minutes of league matches i've understood one thing: american football belongs from Rugby League for many aspects. I'm wrong with that?

ochei, sapendo di far cosa grata a tantissimi forumisti ho cercato informazioni sulla Coppa del Mondo di rugby league ed ho scoperto che la prossima si svolgerà nel 2008 in Australia. Anche la Papua Nuova Guinea, dove il league è ben diffuso, aveva intenzione di ospitare qualche match ma ha dovuto ammettere di non possedere al momento adeguate strutture ricettive.
"Quante e quali squadre parteciperanno?", chiederete voi. Solo dieci squadre: la presunta espansione globale del league hsta infatti trovando grosse difficoltà ad incrinare la popolarità del codice union. Al momento sono qualificate sette nazionali: cinque oceaniche (Australia, Nuova Zelanda, Papua Nuova Guinea, Fiji e Tonga) e due europee (Francia ed Inghilterra). Gli altri tre team usciranno fuori da un lotto di sette squadre: la vincente della pool 1 europea (Irlanda, Russia, Libano), la vincente della pool 2 (Scozia e Galles) e la vincente del gironcino di ripescaggio finale con Samoa, Usa e le due seconde classificate delle due predette pool.
La coppa del mondo di league è stata isputata dodici volte: per nove volte è stata conquistata dagli aussies e per tre dagli inglesi. Nel 2004 il torneo è saltato ed è stato posticipato di quattro anni, a conferma delle sue difficoltà.
