non so credo anche io che a questo punto tutto dovrebbe essere pronto... però, parlavo proprio qualche giorno fa col mio preseidente che diceva che le sedi per le prox partite di 6n femminile non sono state ancora aggiudicate... anche perchè chi chiede di organizzarle deve sostenere tutte le spese necessarie...

La nostra cara MT ha decisamente varcato ogni limiteeee.... Tanto ha fatto che ha segnalato a te o chi di dovere le espressioni poco consone (giustamente) espresse da plutox77 (CHE SAREI IO) per raggiungere il suo obbiettivo cioè quello di eliminare o cmq di penalizzare la Orru' che, con i suoi voti andava ad insidiare le prime posizioni!!!!!! ADAMSON COMPLETES SCOTLAND WOMEN’S LINE-UP

Former Saracens and Barbarians player, Lee Adamson, has been named as Scotland Women’s head coach for the forthcoming RBS 6 Nations.

Adamson began his playing career with London Wasps in 1980 before moving across the English capital to Saracens three years later. He played 600 senior games with Saracens before turning his hand to coaching in 1999.

He began his coaching career with Saracens Women from whom he joins the Scotland team. His coaching CV also boasts spells with International Nomads and the British Lionesses in 2003.

However, it was with Saracens where he made his name in the womens’ game, leading the team to three Premiership titles and four national cup wins. Lee is now relishing his chance to work with the national women’s team.

On today’s news, he said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to return to my Scottish roots and one I am really looking forward to. I am totally committed and driven by the need for success. Having the right players and the best possible support team will be crucial to that.”

SWRU Performance Development Manager Jo Hull, Scotland’s only Level 3 qualified female coach, will be on hand to assist Adamson with the back line.

Other crucial appointments for the women include a greatly experienced medical support team with David Pugh being been named as team doctor.

Among his many previous achievements Pugh lists; Medical Directorship of the Scottish Institute of Sport and is currently Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer with Glasgow University.

Kath Carswell completes the medical set-up as the team physiotherapist. Kath is a former Scotland A player and an experienced rugby physio who formerly worked with the Scotland Under 21 team.

Anche l'Italia all'appuntamento col Sei Nazioni. La sfida delle sorelle Schiavon

ROMA - Il 2007 sarà l'anno delle grandi occasioni per il rugby italiano. Il Sei Nazioni con tre sfide casalinghe in calendario, poi a settembre la Coppa del Mondo in un girone meno proibitivo che in passato e la storica qualificazione ai quarti come ipotesi decisamente realizzabile: se dall'arrivo di Berbizier gli azzurri hanno già sfiorato più volte il risultato di prestigio, l'annata che comincia potrebbe sancire il definitivo salto di qualità e conseguentemente un lancio mediatico benefico per tutto il movimento. Ma il 2007 sarà decisivo, fatte le debite proporzioni, anche per il rugby femminile azzurro. L'Italia, dopo un laborioso tirocinio, è stata ammessa nel Sei Nazioni ed esordirà nel torneo il 4 febbraio contro la Francia, a Biella. Per le azzurre, in raduno a Roma in questi giorni, è il momento di confrontarsi con le prime della classe. «Sarà durissima, lo sappiamo bene», ammette la trevigiana Valentina Schiavon (nella foto a fianco), 22 anni, mediano di mischia titolare della Nazionale, «non abbiamo mai giocato un torneo di così alto livello, ma abbiamo lavorato molto duro nell'ultima stagione e vogliamo dimostrare di esserci meritate l'ingresso nel Sei Nazioni. Contro le più forti il pronostico è chiuso, magari però riusciremo a fare bene con le due squadre alla nostra portata, Galles e Irlanda. Comunque si tratta di un grande appuntamento. Sento un bel po' di emozione e di responsabilità, anche un pizzico di preoccupazione, ma allo stesso tempo non vedo l'ora di scendere in campo».

Se l'Italia ha i fratelli Mirco e Mauro Bergamasco, le azzurre possono a loro volta contare su una coppia di sorelle che sono fra i punti di forza della squadra: Valentina gioca in mediana a fianco di Veronica (nella foto in basso), una numero 9 e l'altra apertura e ottima calciatrice. Come per i Bergamasco, alle spalle delle Schiavon c'è una famiglia di quelle pane e rugby. Papà Mario ha giocato nel Benetton, nel Tarvisium e nel Villorba, ed oggi allena il Riviera del Brenta con la cui maglia "Vero" e "Vale" hanno già vinto due scudetti. Mamma Mansueta ha giocato pure lei, come zio Daniele, come pure zia Mafalda, che anzi è stata fra le pioniere della palla ovale femminile in Italia. «Sia io che mia sorella abbiamo cominciato giovanissime a Treviso, giocare a rugby era inevitabile vista la tradizione che si tramandava in casa», scherza Valentina, che lavora proprio nella ditta di zia Mafalda. «Purtroppo non posso fare la professionista del rugby, ma conto comunque di giocare con il mio club fino a 42 anni, quando cioè mi fermerà il regolamento». Veronica, classe '82, la maggiore e la più timida delle due sorelle, è invece laureata in lingue orientali e reduce da un'esperienza di studio in Giappone. «Sono riuscita ad allenarmi un po' con una squadra locale», ha raccontato, «ma il livello è un po' basso, da quelle parti lavorano troppo per potersi anche allenare...»

In Nazionale "Vero" e "Vale" non rischiano di soffrire la nostalgia di casa, vista la compagnia di numerose giocatrici della regione, sia del Benetton Treviso, dove le Schiavon hanno cominciato, che del Riviera del Brenta, il loro club attuale. Le venete costituiscono l'ossatura della squadra azzurra: per il raduno di Roma il tecnico Coccoccetta ha convocato 32 ragazze, fra queste 8 trevigiane e 7 veneziane, incluse la capitana azzurra Silvia Pizzati. Sono proprio "Red Panthers" della Marca e verdeblù rivierasche a contendersi da diverse stagioni lo scudetto, che negli ultimi due anni è finito ricamato sulle magliette di Schiavon e compagne. «Ripetersi questa volta non sarà affatto facile, Treviso finora sembra superiore a noi», conclude Valentina, «abbiamo cambiato molto, alcune giocatrici esperte sono andate via e la loro assenza si fa sentire. Ma in finale ci saremo sempre noi e loro, e siamo pronte a giocarcela fino all'ultimo minuto».

WWRU Six Nations Squad announced

Following a successful Autumn International campaign, the Wales squad has been announced to go forward into the 2007 Women’s Six Nations.
In her twentieth season at the top level the most experienced player, Liza Burgess, is included in the squad and at 42 years of age is still a force to be reckoned with. This is contrasted by uncapped Nicola Evans, who has worked through the ranks of the Wales Development Squad and sets her sights on an international debut.
The team is once again captained by Mellissa Berry who has shown consistently good form in the autumn internationals and with 55 caps to her name at the age of 25 she leads with great experience and knowledge of the opposition.

Wales look forward to kicking-off their campaign at home to Ireland on February 3rd at their new home venue of Taffs Well RFC in Cardiff. The challenge then heats up with three consecutive away fixtures against Scotland (February 10th), France (February 24th) and newcomers to the championship Italy (March 11th). The tournament then culminates when Wales host England on the 17th of March, which will be the twentieth anniversary of the two teams meeting.

Head coach Fielies Coetsee is aware of the task ahead: “This will be a very challenging Six Nations for us, especially because of the away fixtures. It will require all of our players to be at the top of their game if we are to make an impact. We have had a good autumn international series, taking confidence from the victories, but will have to step it up again for these five matches.”

Ireland squad for Wales named


IRELAND coach John O’Sullivan has named his first Six Nations squad with 22 players announced for the opening clash against Wales.

The only new faces included are Blackrock backrow Debbie Clarke and Ulster hooker Jess Limbert who are in line for their first Irish caps.

In the backline there are no real surprises in the ten players picked.

Tania Rosser and Louise Beamish are the two scrum halves in the squad while Sarahjane Belton looks certain to continue in the number ten berth.

No real backup out half has been picked although Joanne O’Sullivan has played there at this level.

The Cobh-born head coach, who takes charge of his first ever Irish squad when his side face Wales, has named a a strong pack with 12 players chosen who amass over 170 caps between them.

A final training camp will take place next weekend before the starting lineup is announced.


Ireland have not played a game since their final World Cup game against Australia last September.
