Laptop to supplement my ipad?

Let's start off with a little background.
So I recently sold my Macbook Pro that i bought two months ago, didn't like it too much.I now have an ipod, I like it. But I do think I should have a laptop, just in case. Maybe for word processing, any programs I might need, basically for the sake of having a keyboard, etc...
I don't want something to expensive, as my ipad does most of my web browsing/internet stuff.
