I Reds stanno prendendo per il sedere i Bulls... anche in mischia chiusa!
Girano da una parte all'altra del campo in maniera impressionante!

Bulls sembrano stanchi e perennemente in ritardo!

Mamma mia come vanno gli australiani...

Dite quello che volete, ma il Super 14 fa ancora mangiare tanta polvere ai campionati Europei!

Reds battono Bulls 19-12, con brividissimi alla fine con i Bulls che hanno cercato disperatamente la meta per 6 minuti nei 22 dei Reds, giocando 3 calci di punizione diretti!
Alla fine è arrivato un sacrosanto tenuto davanti ai pali, con Hardman (mi pare) che è stato preso a sberloni dai compagni per la gioia!!!
Partita che quando è finita nelle mani dei Reds, soprattutto nel secondo tempo, è diventata veramente splendida, una serie di attacchi ben portati a una difesa Bulls che sembrava parecchio stanca (ci può stare comunque...)! Ottimi in mischia chiusa e quando si trattava di muovere la palla, Genia, Cooper, Davies, Ioane e Hynes son stati mostruosi. Anche i 2 centri, Chambers e Faingaa hanno totalmente annullato Olivier e Dieppenaar!
Ma in realtà la vittoria Reds è arrivata da davanti, da una mischia che non ha mai subito, nemeno nelle ruck e che ha rubato 2-3 palloni in rimessa laterale!

Allora ora ci sono Bulls e Crusaders pari a 34, gli Stormers a 33 e, udite udite, i Reds a 30, alzando così di 1 punto la soglia playoffs!

Sarebbe un peccato non vedere questa gran squadra in semifinale!

Appena tornato dall stadio, ho visto Reds Bulls....che dire..bella atmosfera e squadra dei Reds fenomenale, sarebbe davvero un peccato non vederla in semifinale (ma d'altronde la sconfitta contro i warathas e quella contro gli sharks potevano essere evitate...).
Genia una spanna sopra tutti, era dovunque...la seconda meta dei REds da far vedere ai bambini di minirugby come si fa' "handling" rivedetela al rallentatore...e poi mettetela a velocita' normale....dal vivo e' stata impressionante.

A fine partita il numero 5 dei Reds Van Humphries non si e' alzato da terra, aveva un dolore nella caviglia ed e' stato portato fuori da due persone.

Per la mischia...c'e' da dire che la mischia titolare e' giovane ed inesperta...ma hanno "fame", vi riporto la data di nascita dei primi 8:

insomma questa sera la prima linea non ha sfigurato per nulla devo dire.... dal vivo poi mi sembrava invece che la difesa dei bulls era un muro..stanchi si ma hanno anche perso un po' di palloni in ruck i SA... Il tallonatore reds Faiinga ha fatto un paio di placcaggi dove ha letteralmente alzato e fatto andare indietro l'opponente. Secondo me sara' il futuro nei wallabies..
Comunque vedere i Reds dal vivo e' bellissimo.

ahhaha infatti!! e poi hai visto che meta che ha fatto? tutta di corsa, quasi un 100metrista...non male per uno della sua eta'!!

eh si, specialmente la mischia, sembravano un po' cotti. Pero' la cosa strana e' che in difesa hanno comunque retto. Considerando come hanno giocato i reds qualche buco in piu' dovuto alla poca lucidita' ed i bulls prendevano altre 4/5 di mete.
Ora venerdi' prossimo contro gli stormers (ed io non sono a brisbane!!! ((( ), a questo penso che i prossimi avversari dei reds devono stare attentissimi..un minimo errore e son fregati. Non dimenticare che la seconda meta dei reds e' nata da un errore dei bulls.
Squadra giovane comunque, e se l'anno prox non perdono molti pezzi ai rebels direi che possono ambire al titolo. D'altronde se consideri che mezza squadra dei Force sono tutti di Brisbane...a quest'ora i reds sarebbero stati imbattibili...

Infatti... e per chi ancora la menasse con la storia degli stadi vuoti oggi a Chch c'erano più di 17.000 persone a vedere le riserve dei crusaders demolire gli inutili cheetahs in una dei match più scontati di tutta la stagione....

Fino ai Blues che sono a 25 punti ci sono ancora speranza di entrare nei play-off...

negli anni scorsi si era parlato di aumentare la soglia delle squadre per i play off, almeno 8. Poi non se ne fece piu' nulla. Secondo me sarebbe molto meglio alzarla sta' soglia, visto che poi l'anno prox saranno 15 squadre. Per i Thas la vedo dura, dico piu' una tra Brumbies o Reds.

Io invece direi proprio Tah's o Reds, i Brumbies sembrano ancora troppo disuniti!
Ma forse, per il primo posto in classifica, penso ci possa essere una sorpresa... sto zitto per non tirare la solita gufata clamorosa...

..infatti non tiriamo gufate...mah, i Thas hanno un pilone out, palu out e polota-nau out, sara' dura a questo punto..
Per la testa della classifica e' tutto da decidere, ma i bulls affronteranno i lions, quindi un vittoria scontata e' sicura!
Peccato perche' se i play off erano tra i primi 8 ne avremo viste delle belle!
Una sola considerazione, McKenzie fece molto bene anche con Thas...perche' poi lo mandarono via dopo un paio di anni quando aveva fatto partecipare i Thas a diverse fasi finali per me e' ancora un mistero...

Comunque ieri allo stadio eravamo 26000 spettatori, ma dovete sapere (io l'ho scoperto ieri) che i Reds non fittano tutto lo stadio, solo gli anelli di sotto e un anello superiore per le laterali. Questo perche' altrimenti costerebbe troppo. Intanto la QRU ha chiuso l'anno scorso con 3.6 milioni di dollari di debito.

Dal prossimo anno, con il S15, ci saranno playoff a 6 squadre.

How will the new Super 15 format work ?
The format for the Super15 is not yet completely set in stone because the dates have not yet been released but this is what we know so far. Once the fixtures are released it will make more sense.

There will be three pools or geographic conferences each containing five teams - see table on the right.

Australia, South Africa and New Zealand will each host one pool and the new 15th team will participate in the Australian pool.

The new team is from Melbourne and they are the Melbourne Rebels.

The tournament will start in late February each year with a couple of exceptions.

In 2011 and other world cup years the tournament will start earlier to make space for the world cup.

British and Irish Lions tour years (ie. 2013) could also see the tournament being forced to start two to three weeks earlier.

Super 15 Phase One
The tournament will start with a series of teams playing the other teams in their own conference. Teams will not travel out of their home country at this stage and they will play each team in their conference. (4 Matches per team)

Super 15 Phase Two
After the first round of conference games the teams will then play four of the five teams in each of the other two conferences. Under this format it is possibly that a team such as the Bulls could miss out on playing the Crusaders one year as the teams will play four of the five teams in the other conferences. They could however meet in the play offs.

These eight games will be a mix of home and away games as they are with the Super14. (Another 8 Matches = 12 in total so far)

Super 15 Phase Three
The tournament will then return to a conference format again and another round of domestic challenges as in Phase One but with the venues reversed. This means that each team in a conference will have a home and an away match with their fellow conference teams by the end of the tournament. (Another 4 matches)

Once these three stages are complete teams will have played a total of 16 round-robin games.

A winner from each conference will be determined from the results in the previous three stages. Each conference will have one winner and therefore Australia, South Africa and New Zealand will each be gauranteed to have one team participating in the finals..

Super 15 Phase Four
NOTE: Due to 2011 being a Rugby World Cup year the June Internationals appear have been suspended across the board.

The Super15's fourth phase is not really a stage of the tournament at all as the tournament takes a break in June when the All Blacks, Springboks and Wallabies will host tours from international teams - historically from the Northern Hemisphere - these are usually known as the June tours. Once the June tours are complete, the Super 15 resumes and the finals start.

Super 15 Phase Five/Finals
The new format for the Super 15 finals is an expanded format and will feature six teams rather than the Super14's four team format. The six teams will be made up of the conference winners and the three next teams with the highest total number of points. The top two ranked conference winners get a first round bye in the playoffs.

The expanded finals is expected to start in July and will therefore finish in early August.

Intendo: i playoffs (fino alla seminfinale) sono multipli di 4!
Ottavi, Quarti, Seimifinali, con 16, 8 e 4 squadre.
Come si fa a 6?
Le prime due direttamente in semifinale, e le altre 4 a giocarsi un'altra semifinale?

Inoltre l'organizzazione di questo Super 15 mi sembra piuttosto strana... forse devo rileggere, ma... se è tutto organizzato per conference (a/r) e un solo turno con le altre squadre, c'è una discreta probabilità che se la propria conference sia più leggera, si fanno una sbaraccata di punti e non venga testato realmente il potenziale delle squadre.
Quest'anno sembra che l'ipotetica conference Australiana sia incazzosissima...

Eppoi perché 4 match contro le squadre delle altre conference e non 5 (contro tutte e 5 le squadre)?

Son perplesso...

Poi le vincitrici giocano contro le n. 1 e 2.
