Squadra della setimana

15 Cédric Heymans - A truly magnificent attacking performance from the French full-back, terrorising the Irish with all manner of counter-attacks and kicks.
14 Aurélien Rougerie - Another of a stellar French back-three, Rougerie was his typical incisive self with the ball in hand, including one fabulous first-half break.
13 Tom Shanklin - It actually wasn't Shanklin's best day at the office, with a couple of scoring opportunities going begging after he had created them through awry passes. But the creation was there, as was the typically rumbustuous running through the middle which kept the Welsh on the front foot in tight situations.
12 Gavin Henson - It is noticeable how Henson's work-rate has improved, either since the image overhaul or since the arrival of Warren Gatland. There was not too much of Henson to see in attack, but his defensive channel was firmly shut and he also carried the ball with great strength.
11 Vincent Clerc - Yet again, twinkle-toes gets onto the team sheet. His form of 2007 has spilled over into 2008 at all levels, and he could truly lay claim to being the best winger in the world right now.
10 David Skréla - A close-run thing with Jonny Wilkinson, but it was Skréla's distribution in France's scintillating first half which nicked the spot in the side.
9 Jean-Baptiste Elissalde - Once again the mercurial Toulousain scrum-half was at his wisest, controlling the game superbly from the base of the scrum.
8 Sergio Parisse - Italy's captain marked his 50th cap with one of the most complete number eight performances you are likely to see this year, including the cheekiest of pick-and-chips from the base of the scrum we have ever seen!
7 Martyn Williams - Good job for Wales he came out of retirement, his contribution in the loose has been remarkable. Turnovers, line-breaks, quick hands, it was all there once more on Saturday.
6 James Haskell - As England's ship inexorably sinks, Haskell has emerged as the one back-rower who seems to have the right stuff. Others in this England team will come and go - including the coaching staff - but Haskell still has a bright future ahead of him.
5 Lionel Nallet - France's captain was once again a colossus in the loose as well as the line-out, making several steals through mere physicality.
4 Donncha O'Callaghan - Ireland may have come off second best in the line-outs, but O'Callaghan delivered a superb performance in the loose, especially during Ireland's fabulous final half-hour.
3 Martin Castrogiovanni - Was expected to cause England problems in the scrum, but relished in his 'battering ram' role taking the ball from the half-backs and tearing into England's centre. A wonderful performance.
2 Bernard Jackman - Was pretty much a dead heat between Jackman and Dimitri Szarzewski, but when the final minutes came, the Frenchman was taken off as his front row crumpled around him, while Jackman just got stronger.
1 Marcus Horan - As with Jackman, he may have started off suffering, but as the game went on the French scrum was slowly, excruciatingly, destroyed. Horan also gave a timely reminder of his energy in the loose as well, making several good carries.
