My apologies if I am in the completely wrong forum here, problem is that I do not speak a word of Italian (but somehow managed to register anyway).
I am writing on behalf of a small amateur rugby club in England. We are currently planning a weekend tour to Italy in 2008, but unfortunately have no idea how the rugby union in Italy is structured. We are fairly low-league (second from bottom) and wonder what the equivalent in Italy would be.
Any information would be greatly appreciated (in English or German).
Thank you very much in advance, and forgive my ignorance.
Liebe Karolin, ich werde auf Englisch schreiben, weil mein Deutsch ein bisschen geroestet ist. Apart from what Maci, wrote, which is absolutely correct, it depends much on where in Italy you wish to spend your tour. There are regions in which rugby union is quite popular (north-east, near Venezia) and where almost in every small village you will find a pitch and a team, either high-level or low-level. There are other regions, especially in the south, where only in bigger cities you will find a pitch and a team. You will find plenty of teams in Milano and Roma and in the surrounding area, there are teams in almost all of the main cities (Firenze, Torino, Genova, Bologna to quote but a few). Tell us more about where you wish to go and there will be a lot of people here who may help you. Tschuss.
