<BR> SUVA, Aug 25 (AFP) - The Fiji Rugby Union has banned
<BR>French-based try machine Rupeni Caucaunibuca for a year over his
<BR>failure to join the national team for its matches in June and July.
<BR> The star winger, 25, will not be able to play for Fiji on its
<BR>European Tour in November and the Tri-nations championship between
<BR>Fiji, Tonga and Samoa next year.
<BR> The FRU board agreed to the ban at a meeting late Wednesday,
<BR>Internet news site Fijilive reported.
<BR> Acting FRU chief executive Ratu Timoci Tavanavanua said the ban
<BR>showed no player was above the law or indispensable.
<BR> Caucaunibuca failed to turn up for Fiji\'s match against New
<BR>Zealand Maori in June after flying back from France, where he plays
<BR>for Agen and is one of the country\'s top try-scorers. He told the
<BR>union he had to return to his village to perform customary duties.
<BR> He later failed to board the plane taking the team to Samoa for
<BR>a South Pacific Tri-Nations game, saying his wife had become sick.
<BR>He also failed to turn up for a later flight arranged by the union.
<BR> The ban will not stop him playing for Agen.

<BR>Caucau è stato buttato fuori dalla nazionale x un anno x non essersi presentato in tempo (con varie scuse) ad una partita della sua nazionale.
<BR>Come conseguenza, non lo vedremo a Monza il 26 novembre a meno che non ci ripensino.
