 PARIS, Sept 27 (AFP) - Stade Francais were naturally upset when
 their request to footballing giants Paris St Germain to ground share
 the Parc des Princes for some of their bigger games this season fell
 on deaf ears.
 But outspoken Stade president Max Guazzini did not rest on his
 laurels, immediately arranging a crunch French league match against
 southern giants Toulouse on October 15 to be played at the Stade de
 France.
 And what a bold decision it has proven to be. Some 78,000
 tickets have already been sold, which represents more than Stade\'s
 fellow Top 14 clubs Montpellier or Castres could sell in 15 home
 matches each last season.
 The number also far surpasses the out-of-final record of 45,179
 set last year between Stade and Toulouse at the Parc des Princes.
 It would also beat the number of spectators for a preliminary
 round in a French championship in any sport, the previous record set
 in 1998 when 57,603 fans watched Marseille play PSG at the
 Velodrome.
 Guazzini said he was \"suprised and disappointed\" that PSG had
 not been willing to ground share, especially after successfully
 hosting three games last season, against Newcastle, Biarritz and
 Toulouse, to full houses.
 Stade\'s normal home, the Jean-Bouin stadium, adjacent to the
 Parc des Princes, hosts only 10,000.
 \"We asked the club to play one or two matches at the Parc this
 autumn and its president, Mr (Pierre) Blayau, told us it was not
 possible, in order to protect the grass,\" Guazzini told L\'Equipe on
 Tuesday.
 \"So we will not play our European Cup tie against Leicester on
 October 29 at the Parc.
 \"Relations have not been cut or broken off since PSG have left
 the door open for the months of April and May,\" he said.
 Such is the interest Stade Francais has sparked, the
 high-rolling Paris outfit has received offers from four stadiums -
 in Metz, Lens, Marseille and Brussels - to host its game against
 Leicester.
 Guazzini said the ease of Stade\'s travelling ticket holders
 would be the deciding factor in where to host the match, and not the
 financial spin-offs.
 He added that Paris had been won over by a wave of \"rugbymania\"
 and that \"an interest has been born\".
 \"We want to make rugby live in Paris, to do the high-mass of
 rugby, with people who will come by bus from Moulins, Haxebrouck,
 Metz, Luneville, Le Touquet, Dieppe, Le Havre, Brussels,\" he said in
 reference to towns not generally regarded as hotbeds of rugby.
 \"If we create affordable events, people come,\" Guazzini said.
 The fact Stade have to move from their cramped home stadium for
 big matches and can fill grounds such as the Parc des Princes and
 the Stade de France highlights the dearth of decent rugby and
 football stadia in Paris.
 \"Given that Paris didn\'t get the 2012 Games, we have to have a
 real rugby stadium,\" Guazzini said in reference to the French
 capital\'s losing bid to host the Olympics.
 Paris mayor \"Betrand Delanoe, whom I have to meet this week,
 again told me on Saturday that rugby deserved another stadium.
 \"A place where we could set up our offices, our training centre.
 An English-style stadium with 18,000 seats, comfortable. For a very
 big match we will go elsewhere,\" he said.
