Nick Mallet nuovo allenatore italiano?

Ciao sono nuovo qua anche se seguo da tempo le discussioni. Ho appena letto sul forum di planet rugby che il nuovo coach italiano sará Nick Mallet, qualcuno puó confermarlo?

Nick Mallett is expected to replace Pierre Berbizier as head coach of Italy.

According to Rapport newspaper, Mallett will officially get the job on Sunday.

Mallett’s contract as WP director of rugby finishes at the end of the year, but he has taken a back seat since the arrival of Rassie Erasmus in Cape Town.

Berbizier is favoured to replace Bernard Laporte as France’s coach after the World Cup. The Frenchman helped Italy finish third in the Six Nations this year, including historic wins against Scotland and Wales, and has a 40% win rate with the side. This is superior to Italy’s last two coaches, John Kirwan (31%) and Brad Johnstone (15%).

Mallett coached the Boks from 1997 to 2000 and had a 71% win rate. The Italy job will be his first with another national side.

Non sono sicuro sia fondato (BBZ allenatore francese, col presidente che lo caccio` 7 anni fa?), ma non si sa mai.

Mallett gode di grande stima qui in Albione, e penso sia meglio lui di un allenatore francese di seconda o addirittura terza-quarta schiera.

Scherzi a parte: a me sembra che l'Italia sia diventata una nazionale appetita, se non per allenarila, almeno per far parlare di se (Eddie Jones docet)

Mallett ha fatto bene allo Stade Francaise, ma non ha mai allenato una nazionale ed ha una concezione rugbystica molto lontana da quella a cui la nostra nazionale è abituata.

Mallet ha allenato il Sudafrica subito dopo il Mondiale del 95 vincendo se non sbaglio un Tri Nations ed avendo il record di vittorie consecutive con la nazionale sudafricana.

Giuro che non c'è nulla di personale, ed in effetti condivido quanto dici sulla concezione rugbystica lontana da quella della nostra nazionale.. cmq:

Ha allenato gli Sprinboks e anche con discreti risultati.....

Between August 1997 and December 1998, under Mallett's guidance, the Springboks went on a record winning streak of 17 consecutive test wins. As part of the unbeaten run the Springboks won the Tri Nations Series undefeated and beat several teams by record margins, including a 52-10 humiliation of France in Paris, a 68-10 win over Scotland in Edinburgh, a 33-0 defeat of Ireland and a 96-13 drubbing of Wales. The run ended when an exhausted Springbok team was defeated by England at Twickenham at the end of a long tour on the 5th of December 1998.

Sinceramente mi sembra che goda di più credito di quanto ne avesse BBZ 2 anni fa, a me andrebbe benissimo, poi ovviamente si vedrà.
