“Even though we haven’t played as much recently it has not been a break for us. I’m a little disappointed that we didn’t perform as we might have (against Connacht). “I’ve been quite happy with how our preparation has gone this week. I’m glad to have the international players back and the energy and enthusiasm that they have shown since they’ve been re-integrated into the squad has been exemplary.
“You could excuse them having a hangover, but they have all been very sharp in training. Ok, we mightn’t have momentum coming into this weekend’s game but we know that bit more about each other. The language and the plays are that bit more automatic. “We have a clear knowledge of how we want to play the game. The players are confident and everyone has bought into the one programme. I’m happy to rely on the players input.”
On Toulouse: “Toulouse are a good team. You don’t become a good team overnight. You’ve got to be doing it regularly. We respect our opposition but we also understand that we’re a difficult team to handle.” “They have a lot of pace, not just on the extremities, but also in their midfield and in the backrow also. It’s very important that we get it right (up front). “We need to dominate them all over the park. Nel weekend si giocano anche i quarti di Challenge Cup (che potremmo definire, turandoci le orecchie, la Coppa Uefa del rugby). Domani sera anticipo tra Newcastle e Connacht. Tute e quattro le partite si giocano in Inghilterra.

“It’s a different game this week. It was important for us to win at Bath. They played pretty poorly and we didn’t play much better.

Sia su questo sito sia su Planet Rugby ho letto che il rugby inglese versa in un momento di modewstia tecnica, ma mi pare che i risultati dicano un po' l'oppposto: in Heineken ci saranno uno o due team inglesi in semifinale, in Challenge addirittura tre o quattro.

Non l'ho vista, purtroppo. Probabilmente hai ragione tu, ma suona strano che un movimento in crisi domini in tal maniera a livello continentale. In fondo il rugby francese dovrebbe essere superiore a quello inglese, poiché può contare (credo, ma magari mi sbaglio della grossa) su un più ampio bacino di giocatori.
